Ichnological outcrop assessment is possible, however this is rarely applied due to the distance of an outcrop from a person’s potential reservoir of interest. The other problem associated with ichnological outcrop analysis is the weathering and lack of vertical continuity. However; outcrop study can give us complementary information about core analysis and improve our interpretation of paleoenvironments. We can combine ichnological outcrop and core analysis in order to provide more in depth and accurate interpretations.
